In practical terms, this means our inspections are independent, unbiased, and performed solely in the best interest of our client — not agents, sellers, or third parties.

  • No repair work on inspected properties for at least 12 months
  • Client confidentiality is always respected
  • Inspections performed in compliance with Wisconsin licensing requirements

InterNACHI® Code of Ethics

The following is the official Code of Ethics of the International Association of Certified Home Inspectors (InterNACHI®). Used with permission.

Duty to the Public

The InterNACHI® member shall abide by the Code of Ethics and substantially follow the InterNACHI® Standards of Practice.

The InterNACHI® member shall not engage in any practices that could be damaging to the public or bring discredit to the home inspection industry.

The InterNACHI® member shall be fair, honest, and impartial, and act in good faith in dealing with the public.

The InterNACHI® member shall not discriminate in any business activities on the basis of age, race, color, religion, gender, national origin, familial status, sexual orientation, or handicap, and shall comply with all applicable laws.

The InterNACHI® member shall be truthful regarding the member’s services and qualifications.

The InterNACHI® member shall not:

  • Have any disclosed or undisclosed conflict of interest with the client;
  • Accept or offer any disclosed or undisclosed commissions, rebates, or referral fees;
  • Provide compensation to real estate agents or companies for referrals or preferred placement.

The InterNACHI® member shall not release inspection information without the client’s written consent, except where required by law or necessary for safety.

The InterNACHI® member shall use a written contract that specifies services, limitations, and fees.

The InterNACHI® member shall comply with all licensing requirements of the jurisdiction where the inspection is performed.

The InterNACHI® member shall not perform or offer repairs on a property inspected by the member or the member’s company for a period of 12 months.

Duty to Continuing Education

InterNACHI® members holding the Certified Professional Inspector (CPI)® designation shall comply with InterNACHI’s continuing education and examination requirements.

Duty to the Profession and to InterNACHI®

The InterNACHI® member shall strive to improve the home inspection profession and abide by InterNACHI® membership requirements and professional conduct standards.
